Just say no to the mud - Yangshuo Day 3

Our last day in the area included a cave tour and painting lesson.  We caught on that the cave trip included a dip in a mud bath and hot spring, which we weren't prepared for or interested in, but we were assured that was "ok" and we'd visit the cave anyway. 

This was an honest to goodness cave exploration.  This wasn't visiting a site in the Black Hills of South Dakota with pretty crystals and clean bathrooms.   We started with a boat ride into the cave.    Here's me and my buddy sharing a plank seat on the boat.

Once on the path, very quickly Bob had to get on his hands and knees to squeeze through areas.  Poor Bob is not the right size for China.   As we got further inside, it got muddier and hot and steamy.  We were with another couple who were going to take the mud path and we just watched.  I think it was awkward for everyone...

We got back to the hotel and had 7 minutes to check out, so no showers for us!  Our clothes were quite dirty, so we cleaned up the best we could and checked out. 

After lunch we met Li and she took us for a painting lesson.   It turns out that none of us will be famous painters, but it was fun.

After dinner we went back to the Guilin airport and flew back to Shenzhen. It was a VERY long day, but the end to a fun and interesting trip.
